Connexions

We deliver the Connexions Service in four local authority areas: Manchester, Rochdale, Salford and Tameside; where we work closely with Children and Young Peoples' Service directorates.

Each service is managed by a Connexions Manager whose role is to work with the local authority and partner organisations to develop and implement their strategic plans.

Our Manchester Connexions centres are located in Harpurhey, Openshaw, Longsight, Moss Side, West Didsbury and Wythenshawe. 

In Rochdale we have Connexions Centres in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.

Our Salford Connexions Centres are in Salford, Eccles and Walkden.

In Tameside we have Connexions Centres in Ashton and Hyde.

Young people can also access our Connexions Advisers through local schools, colleges, outreach locations and via our Connexions websites.

We can offer help and guidance on

  • education, training and careers issues
  • health
  • money
  • housing
  • relationships
  • drugs and substance misuse
  • finding a job
  • filling vacancies for employers

Young people have varying needs and many require additional support falling within one or more of the following groups

  • school non attenders
  • young people not in education, training or employment - NEET
  • young offenders
  • teenage mothers
  • care leavers
  • black and minority ethnic young people
  • asylum seekers
  • young people with learning difficulties and disabilities
